Katherine Garbera is the national best-selling author of more than 40 books. Writing is the chief focus of her time after her family and the only thing she likes more than working on her own books is reading other authors.  She is a frequent speaker at conferences and loves the opportunity to talk about writing with anyone who'll listen.

Garbera started making up stories for her own benefit when she was on a competitive swim team in high school.  Though she went to State and usually medaled at swim meets, Katherine says her heart wasn't in swimming but rather in the stories she created as she swam laps at practice.  Though not overly athletic Katherine has practiced the martial art TaeKwon Do with her daughter and vows that there's not a piece of plywood out there that can take her in a fair match!  She also enjoys bicycling with her kids, walking and swimming.

She worked for The Walt Disney World Company for 15 years and did everything from being a hostess on It’s a Small World, to saving swimmers at the Grand Floridian Resort, to touring around VIPs such as Jack Valenti at the Disney-MGM Studios and being a production page on the New Mickey Mouse Club--yes, it might be possible that Britney, Justine and Christina owe her a nod of thanks for keeping all those kids who had to go to the bathroom from interrupting their performances.

She's been nominated for several writing awards including RT Book Club's Best Silhouette Desire (2001, 2006), and Career Achievement (2003, 2006, 2007) Awards.  Her books consistently rank on the Walden Books Top 10 for Series Romance several in the number 1 position. Most recently with THE SPANISH ARISTOCRAT'S WOMAN in March 2008.

Her books have been featured in magazines such as REDBOOK and GLAMOUR and have even been featured on the large JumboTron in Times Square.

Her latest release BARE FACTS launches a new trilogy featuring the women of Liberty Investigations.  Similar in feel to Charlie's Angels, this book has been called an exhilarating and suspense ridden read by Romance Junkies.  Coffetime Romance says (BARE FACTS is a) fast moving and exciting plot with incendiary love scenes and great dialogue.

General Inquiries

Will you be writing any more O'Roarke family books?
Presently I have no books featuring the O'Roarke family scheduled but I do hope to write more at a future date.

Will there be any more Sons of Privilege books or even Daughters of Privilege?
Right now there aren't any plans for any more of those books.  I'm doing a series for Silhouette Desire that features Italian car makers and a curse that means they can either be lucky in love or business.

Will there be a sequel to Night Life?
At this time my writing schedule is pretty full. But I'm planning to do something with Orly LaFontaine soon! I'll keep you posted here.

When is your next book coming out?
Check my coming soon page. It will have what's coming next!

Why do you write romance?
I write romance because I love that feeling that comes when you first fall in love.

Do you plan to write any more books about Corporate Spouses?
Yes. I'm planning to write Kelly's story. But with all the other projects I have on my plate right now, it's probably a few years in the future.

A lot of your stories take place in the business world, are you a corporate wife?
No, but for many years I was a corporate secretary, which gave me a very intimate view of how corporations work.

King of Hearts

Is the king of hearts the hero of your books?
No, the king of hearts is Il Re, aka Pasquale Mandetti. He's a mob capo--which is a mob boss--who asked for forgiveness with his dying breath. He's gotten a second chance to try to get into heaven by uniting in love as many couples as enemies he murdered in hate.

Who are the heroes of the King of Hearts books? Are they related?

The books aren't related except for Il Re who takes on a different persona each time. Kind of like Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap. Read more about the King Of Hearts books.
