My baby started middle school this year. I’m sure he’d be horrified to hear me refer to him this way but he is my little one. And he is so grown up now. Sometimes I wonder where the years have gone. Especially when I’m watching him interact with others. No longer a child interested in only his own world he is now engaged with the people around him.
Last night we were all treated to a trumpet lesson from him. He started trumpet this year at school and after two weeks of school he has finally been allowed to bring the instrument home. He showed me with care and patience how to assemble his instrument and then how to play it.
It was really a lot of fun and underscored to me one of the major changes between middle school and elementary school. He really is growing up.
