Happy Saturday!
(posted 16 Aug 2008)

My grandfather used to greet each new day like this. I think he saw each day as a gift and wanted to spread his joy with everyone around him.

I try to keep his attitude in mind as I get up each day. It’s a harder on some days than others but most of the time I just wake up and smile at the thought of a new day.

Its actually a beautiful morning here in North Texas. The sun is shining and it hasn’t gotten hot yet today. I’ve been reading an email from my good friend Heidi Betts which made me laugh. She’s just a very funny person and a really good author. You should check out here books.

My dog is sitting on my lap, she’s a tiny mini dachshund and my sweetie is sitting at his desk playing Call of Duty with his son in the UK. And my own kiddos are enjoying a day out with their dad. So at this moment everyone is happy in my world.

I hope you too are having a good day.

One Response to “Happy Saturday!”

  1. Your Grandfather was right, Kathy — each day is a gift, and when we smile and appreciate all the little things throughout the day - fresh cup of hot coffee, quick in & out in the check out line, pleasant cashiers and passer bys, unexpected checks in the mail, or letters / emails from family and friends — thoughtful gestures of love from our significant other or our children — These are the small packages we unwrap throughout the day without giving it a thought.
The nice thing is that we can give and receive these gifts everyday.. not just one day out of the year.
Here’s to everyone remembering to shower themselves in the gifts that each day has to offer and be sure to spread it around!!

Chatty Kathy is a place for me to share some my thoughts on whatever topic I'm interested in. Lots of reviews of books I've read, some commentary on music that I like and some fun stuff that is related to whatever book I'm
researching. If available I'll provide a link to those places so you can check it out too. If any of my recommendations strikes a chord with you, let me know via email and I'll add your comments here.
