Today’s writing
(posted 20 Jun 2008)

I’ve always known that I would be a story teller. I didn’t know how I would tell my stories when I was little because I didn’t always write them down. But I did know that my imagination was a place where I’ve always been most comfortable.

I’m working on a story now…BARE NERVE which will be in bookstores next February…with a heroine who is more at home in front of her computer than with people. She likes the anonymity of solving crimes by tracking down information and capturing criminals. In that way she’s very like me as a writer. I create characters and live a very exciting life on the pages of my books.

Anna, my heroine, doesn’t get to stay in her own safe little world when the bad guy who she thinks will be a simple white collar criminal takes her and her teammates at Liberty Investigations on a dangerous journey into Algiers.

Algiers holds a lot of memories for Anna who was kidnapped from the British Embassy in Algiers as a child. She was held for four days while her father dealt with trying to save his daughter and live up to what the British government needed from him. That incident set Anna on the path to the life she’s living today. And now she’s back in Algiers and facing two life altering events…a man who she is attracted to but doesn’t like and the fact that she can’t safely return to the woman she was…that woman who sat in front of her computer and solved crimes.

It’s a fun story and I’m really enjoying exploring Anna’s neurosis!

Happy reading!!!

Chatty Kathy is a place for me to share some my thoughts on whatever topic I'm interested in. Lots of reviews of books I've read, some commentary on music that I like and some fun stuff that is related to whatever book I'm
researching. If available I'll provide a link to those places so you can check it out too. If any of my recommendations strikes a chord with you, let me know via email and I'll add your comments here.
