Nature Girl
(posted 22 Jan 2008)
If a glance around my website hasn’t shown you this one fact yet let me tell you that I’m not exactly nature girl. I’m more the kind of person who is comfortable with room service and a Starbucks nearby. But this weekend we went to Robbers Cave in Oklahoma and I had a great time.
First of all the place has a pretty interesting history. The caves we visited and rocked climbed at were once used by notorious outlaws (think Old West time period) to hide-out from the law. And we stayed in very cozy log cabins with fireplaces.
We hiked about four miles each day and did some free-hand rock climbing. It was a lot of fun despite being a bit chilly. The high both days was in the 30s.
As a reward for all that outdoorsy stuff we found a Starbucks on the way home!!!
Have you ever tried something that is outside of your normal habits and really enjoyed it?
Kathy
