Movie Monday
(posted 05 Mar 2007)

I celebrated finishing my book with a movie filled weekend. It’s not a surprise to me that Wild Hogs was number one at the box office. The movie is really funny and pure escapism. Four middle-aged guys decide to get away on a road-trip to prove to themselves they’ve still got it. There’s not a lot of thinking to be done in this movie just a lot of laughing and I really enjoyed it.

The next movie I saw was Ghost Rider…OMG, I LOVED it! I’m a huge fan of comic book movies especially the ones that deal with Hell (Hellboy and Constantine) and Ghost Rider is Hell’s own bounty-hunter. The story is pretty basic and deals with betrayal. It’s not a big thinking movie either but it was really good. The special effects were awesome and Sam Elliot is in it. He has the best voice of all time. Low, gravelly and totally seductive!!!

The last movie I saw was Music & Lyrics. I loved this one too. But I’m a sucker for a well-written romance. And this one is. The black moment which I usually have a problem with in Hollywood romances felt real to me. And the characters were nuerotic and so much fun. I love Hugh Grant anyway, but in this film he was perfect as a guy who is living off his once famous days and is perfectly okay with not being a big celeb.

If you have some time on your hands and you’re not reading, then check out one of these movies!
